Well, we’re only going into the second week of January and I’m already feeling the winter blues.
I can remember a time when the change of seasons from fall to winter just meant a transition from Hunting season to Hard Water season.
Unfortunately, it’s not like that for me anymore, the wintertime is now a period that is very hard for me mentally.
I have a weight problem and am now experiencing difficulty with pain in my knees and legs making winter navigation very challenging. I’m kinda like a big old grumpy bear right now, I have started referring to this time of year as my hibernation period.
Given that I now spend most of the winter months inside I would like to use this time as productively as possible.
One constructive diversion that I intend on utilizing is reaping the rewards from this past fall. Our group was fortunate enough to have been successful with both our Deer Hunt as well as our Moose Hunt so it’s time to take advantage of my good fortune by preparing some of the delectable treats associated with a rewarding hunting season.
I have to decide which project I’m going to attempt first, either my tasty Honey Garlic Moose and Venison sausage or the latest jerky recipe I created which has quickly risen to the top spot on my little guy’s favorites list.
This recipe has produced great results for either sausage or jerky providing you have a flat nozzle for squeezing out flat strips onto the cooking screens.
Check out these inexpensive Sausage/Jerky kits and transform last fall’s success into tasty treats for this winter!
